THIS WEEK I LEARNED

We want each child to know they are loved, valued and safe in our ministry. One of the ways we do this is by following our group promises. Please take time to review it with your child before class so that they understand the expectations. We will:  

• Listen when others are speaking and wait our turn to share  
• Keep our hands, feet, and objects to ourselves  
• Use calm, walking feet to move around the room  
• Use kind and encouraging words  
• Follow directions and make safe choices  

From now till September 6 in both Godly Play and Chapel, we are learning all about King David. We will continue to watch portions of the movie and during this special summer sessions will include special snacks, crafts and activities that relate to the story. 
 
Connecting at Home, Questions you can ask:  

• What did you learn in class today about David?
• Did you have a favorite part in today’s movie clip?  
• If you were David, how would you feel after you won the battle against Goliath?  
• What do you think will happen when the current King learns about that David has been promised to rule Israel as the future King?

he Chapel Singers will be taking the summer off and resume meeting in September 13.

In our sensory-friendly service, we reflected on the story from Daniel 6:1–23 when Daniel is in the Lion’s Den, reminding us that God is with us, even when we are afraid.

We launch the new Christian Education Program Year on Sunday September 13! Come at 9:30 during the Sunday School Hour to meet your teacher, visit the classroom, and kick off the new semester with fun activities and after worship, stay for the church picnic featuring a foam machine for kids. Remember that kids might want to bring a change of clothes and a towel. See more details below.

Parents’ Night Out
September 25 | 6:00-9:00pm | WPC
An evening dedicated to celebrating grandparents and the important role they play in our families. Children will enjoy crafts, activities, treats, and opportunities to create gifts and memories for their grandparents. Cost is $30 for one child or $50 for a family group (2+ kids).
