THIS WEEK I LEARNED

December 14, 2025

Children's Ministry at WPC

We want each child to know they are loved, valued and safe in our ministry. One of the ways we do this is by following our group promises. Please take time to review it with your child before class so that they understand the expectations. We will:
  • Listen when others are speaking and wait our turn to share
  • Keep our hands, feet, and objects to ourselves
  • Use calm, walking feet to move around the room
  • Use kind and encouraging words
  • Follow directions and make safe choices

Nursery and Godly Play

In both our Nursery and Godly Play rooms this morning, we explored Weeks 3 and 4 of our Advent series. The children wondered about the shepherds who were surprised by a whole angelic host, and they followed the story of the magi, who set out on a long journey searching for the meaning of a very special star. There was so much curiosity and imagination in the room as we talked about what it feels like to be visited, surprised, or invited into something new.

Music

Our singers also shared their Advent song in the 10:30 worship service, and they did an absolutely fantastic job. We are so proud of their hard work and the joy they brought to our worshiping community today. Way to go, friends!

Chapel

In Chapel, we continued our Advent series by talking about joy: what it feels like, where we find it, and how God invites us to share joy with the people around us. Ask your child what brought them joy this week.
We are grateful for the wonder your children bring each Sunday. Advent blessings to your whole family as we journey closer to Christmas together.

Sensory-Friendly Worship

In our sensory-friendly service, we explored the story of Peter and Cornelius. We have fund advent work options and the opportunity to make some clay animals.
