THIS WEEK I LEARNED

September 13, 2026

Children's Ministry at WPC

We want each child to know they are loved, valued and safe in our ministry. One of the ways we do this is by following our group promises. Please take time to review it with your child before class so that they understand the expectations. We will:
  • Listen when others are speaking and wait our turn to share
  • Keep our hands, feet, and objects to ourselves
  • Use calm, walking feet to move around the room
  • Use kind and encouraging words
  • Follow directions and make safe choices

Nursery and Godly Play

Welcome to Launch Sunday! We are excited to start a new year of Christian Education. This semester will be full of learning stories from the Old Testament. Our time together also includes sharing a snack and spending time engaging in crafts and activities that relate to the story featured each week.

Connecting at Home, Questions you can ask:
  • What did you learn in class today and who did you meet?
  • Share this blessing or write your own as we start a new Christian Education year.
  • Gracious God, as this new school year at the church begins, bless every student, teacher, and family with wisdom and grace. May this new chapter help us uncover our talents, strengthen our faith, and inspire us to be a light in our community as we remember that we are always, already, loved…may we love others with the same kindness and grace, in your name we pray, Amen.

Music

The Chapel Singers met today and began learning songs that will be shared in worship later this fall.

Sensory-Friendly Worship

In our sensory-friendly service, we reflected on the story of the workers in the vineyard found in Matthew 20:1-16. In this story we learn that God’s generosity is bigger than the way we usually measure what is fair. In God’s kingdom, everyone is welcomed and everyone receives what they need.
