THIS WEEK I LEARNED

Children's Ministry at WPC

We want each child to know they are loved, valued and safe in our ministry. One of the ways we do this is by following our group promises. Please take time to review it with your child before class so that they understand the expectations. We will:
  • Listen when others are speaking and wait our turn to share
  • Keep our hands, feet, and objects to ourselves
  • Use calm, walking feet to move around the room
  • Use kind and encouraging words
  • Follow directions and make safe choices

Nursery

Our littlest ones began their new thankfulness series. They practiced noticing the good things around them, like kind friends and the ways God is with them in everyday moments.

Godly Play

In Godly Play, the children heard the story of David a story full of courage and God’s surprising choices. They wondered about what it means to be chosen, how God sees the heart, and how even young people can do brave things.

Music

During music time, the children continued learning their new song for Advent! We can’t wait for you to hear them sing it on December 14th. Here is the practice link: https://viewer.jwpepper.com/smc2/?product=10068945E&preview=true

Chapel

Our chapel group continued exploring gratitude and how it shapes the way we live and love. We talked about noticing blessings, expressing thanks, and how gratitude helps us draw closer to God and to one another.

Sensory-Friendly Worship

In our sensory-friendly service, we learned about Philip in Samaria, a story reminding us that God’s good news reaches into every place and every community. Children will be able to make Holy Spirit Swirl using coffee filters and markers to make colorful swirls.
