THIS WEEK I LEARNED

We want each child to know they are loved, valued and safe in our ministry. One of the ways we do this is by following our group promises. Please take time to review it with your child before class so that they understand the expectations. We will:  

• Listen when others are speaking and wait our turn to share  
• Keep our hands, feet, and objects to ourselves  
• Use calm, walking feet to move around the room  
• Use kind and encouraging words  
• Follow directions and make safe choices  

In Godly Play and Chapel, we are learning all about God’s great creation as we spend the summer reflecting on the Creation story. Our summer sessions will include special crafts and activities.

The Chapel Singers will be taking the summer off and resume meeting in September.

In our sensory-friendly service, we reflected on the story from lesson on Mark 6:1-6 when Jesus Is Not Welcomed.  We explored the story by asking things like, “I wonder why the people had trouble listening? I wonder why they would not trust what Jesus said? I wonder if Jesus was sad by how they responded? I wonder if they were surprised when he left and went to the other villages?” 

No 9:30am Christian Education hour on July 5 and note that there will be no Children’s Chapel on July 5. Special worship bags will contain extra activities while children worship with you during the 10:30am worship service.
