Children's Ministry at WPC

We want each child to know they are loved, valued and safe in our ministry. One of the ways we do this is by following our group promises. Please take time to review it with your child before class so that they understand the expectations. We will:
  • Listen when others are speaking and wait our turn to share
  • Keep our hands, feet, and objects to ourselves
  • Use calm, walking feet to move around the room
  • Use kind and encouraging words
  • Follow directions and make safe choices

Nursery and Godly Play

Today in the Nursery and in Godly Play, we heard the Parable of the Good Shepherd who searches for the one sheep that is lost and leaves the ninety-nine to do so provides the framework for all other references to Jesus as our shepherd. This story, found in both Matthew 18 and Luke 15, was told in today’s lesson, but the presentation also incorporated Jesus’ reference to himself as the Good Shepherd (from John 10) and elements of Psalm 23, “The Lord is my shepherd.

Music

The Chapel Singers are learning a song titled "God is Here Today" to sing in worship.  Mark your calendars for February 8th to hear the children sing during the 10:30AM service!

Chapel

In Chapel, we learned all about God’s Amazing Grace, what Grace means, and how confessing our mistakes leads to also receiving God’s promise of assurance, that by God’s grace alone we are forgiven.

Sensory-Friendly Worship

In our sensory-friendly service, we explored the story in Acts 14 focused on Paul and Barnabas. The sacred space story highlights that no matter what, God is with us, even when things are difficult.
