THIS WEEK I LEARNED

We want each child to know they are loved, valued and safe in our ministry. One of the ways we do this is by following our group promises. Please take time to review it with your child before class so that they understand the expectations. We will:  

• Listen when others are speaking and wait our turn to share  
• Keep our hands, feet, and objects to ourselves  
• Use calm, walking feet to move around the room  
• Use kind and encouraging words  
• Follow directions and make safe choices  

In Godly Play and Chapel, we are learning all about God’s great creation as we spend the summer reflecting on the Creation story. Our summer sessions will include special crafts and activities.

The Chapel Singers will be taking the summer off and resume meeting in September.

In our sensory-friendly service, we reflected on the story from on John 14:1–7 where Jesus says, ““Jesus said, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you know God.” Together we asked “I wonder what it means that Jesus is the way? I wonder what it means that God’s house has many rooms? I wonder how we know that we are on the right path? I wonder how it feels to, always and already, be welcomed by Jesus into the house of God?”
