THIS WEEK I LEARNED

Children's Ministry at WPC

We want each child to know they are loved, valued and safe in our ministry. One of the ways we do this is by following our group promises. Please take time to review it with your child before class so that they understand the expectations. We will:
  • Listen when others are speaking and wait our turn to share
  • Keep our hands, feet, and objects to ourselves
  • Use calm, walking feet to move around the room
  • Use kind and encouraging words
  • Follow directions and make safe choices

GODS PLAY & NURSERY

This Sunday marks the grand finale of our Summer Immersive: Journey Through Egypt! The children will revisit the entire story arc, from Joseph’s colorful coat to Moses leading God’s people through the Red Sea. Remembering the adventures, challenges, and celebrations along the way. We’ll spend time finishing any projects they haven’t completed and reflecting on what we’ve learned about God’s faithfulness. As we wrap up our summer series, we’re looking forward to an exciting new season together in our regular fall Sunday School programs. Ask your child which part of the summer’s story was their favorite and what they’re most looking forward to learning next.

  • Fall Sunday School Launch (September 7 at 9:30 AM)
Regular Sunday School for Nursery (Birth–PreK) and K–3rd Grade begins! Children will experience stories, music, and hands-on wonder time that help them explore God’s love in a safe and nurturing space. Be on the lookout for the 25/26 yearly registration packets coming soon!
  • Deacons Picnic September 7 after the 10:30 service
Join us after worship for delicious food and an afternoon packed with fun: a foam party (bring swimsuits and towels), face painting, and a petting zoo. It’s a day of joyful celebration you won’t want to miss!
  • Midweek Manna (Wednesday evenings Sept 17& 24, Oct 1 & 8 )
Join us for a five-week intergenerational experience blending faith and music. Each evening begins with dinner at 5:15pm, followed by a special artistic presentation in the sanctuary. Children will have quiet creative activities to work on while listening. This is such an enriching way to explore faith as a whole church family.
  • Candy and prize donation are needed for our Spooktacular Organ concert October 29th with cookies, cider and candy stations in the garden court to follow. Drop off your donations in the labeled box by the front desk or here in the children’s ministry area.
  • Volunteers needed! Please consider joining us this fall as a Children’s Ministry Volunteer. We need at least 2 adults in Sunday school. You do not have to volunteer every week, even 1-2 times a semester makes a big difference, and you get to know the children. Please let me know if you are interested!
